Canal Boat Hire Pet Policy

If the thought of leaving your pet at home is simply too much and is the reason you are not booking one of our canal boats for hire for a getaway break or a holiday then stop and call Canal Boat Cruises today because we actually allow pets on our boats.

All of our canal boats are pet friendly however we do only allow a maximum of 2 pets unless more are agreed prior to the departure. We do not provide any pet blankets or pet beds and so this will be the owner’s responsibility or whoever is hiring the boat and bringing the pet along with them.

We do request that any pet which is coming onboard is properly house trained or is caged as is appropriate. They must never be left unattended by the hirer and are not allowed to climb on the bedding or upholstery.

Canal Boat Cruises award winning team provide Company Insurance to the hirer(s) however pets are not covered under this and therefore the hirer will be liable for any loss or damage which is caused to them as a result of your canal boat hire trip.

As you are passing other canal boats on your trip then you may well see other furry friends on the other canal boats. We do not mind having them onboard with you whilst you are on holiday providing this is made clear beforehand and it has been agreed as part of the hire.

Recently we had a couple hire one of our canal boats and they brought along their two Yorkshire Terriers, Moggy and Milly. They loved the trip and we had absolutely no problem with letting them onboard as their owners brought their own dog baskets, blankets and they were properly house trained.
